Our commitment to quality in servicing hospitality clients has earned HSS the trust and respect of the best hotel brands in the business.   The Director of Administration and Compliance directs and oversees the Human Resources Compliance team, contract administration, Regional Safety Team and Claims Management.  Acts as a subject matter expert in the areas of employment law and human resources related regulations. Administers compliance-heavy HR administration, including wage and hour, employment verification, onboarding, employment records maintenance and related employment practices.  Ensures the organization meets and maintains compliance and legal objectives.  Identifies and affects process improvements to provide the organization with the highest level of employment practices and compliance in hiring, employment verification, onboarding practices, employment documentation and maintenance of employee records.  Manages audits and audit findings through to resolution.  Tracks and evaluates attainment of compliance goals. Addresses gaps and reports progress to upper management. Work with our parent company, KBS  HR Compliance department for guidelines, HR Compliance requirements and issue resolution.   Duties and responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct activities of the corporate compliance department.  Member of company Compliance Committee.  Provide reporting on compliance activities and develop improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with immigration standards to maximize the organization’ s acquisition of talent.
  • Build and oversee the HR Internal Audit team.
  • Lead HR compliance customer audits.
  • Responds to and manages government audits.
  • Evaluate, identify, develop and implement process and program improvements to maximize compliance adherence and efficiencies both within the compliance team and to ensure compliance adherence across the organization.
  • Manage review and approval process for client contracts and agreements.  As necessary, work with inside counsel, outside counsel and business clients.
  • Oversee Risk and Safety departments.  Provide direction and controls to minimize risk.
  • Compile reports, coordinate projects and handle legal notices, such as subpoenas.  Assist HR in responding to EEOC and other legal claims.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
  • BS in Human Resources, Business, Accounting or related field; MBA a plus.
  • 7 years of Human Resources experience minimum.
  • Project management experience.
  • 3-5 years of HR Compliance and / or Immigration Compliance preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Deadline and detail oriented
  • High ethical standards and behaviors
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, teamwork and problem solving skills
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge and experience of corporate legal and financial principles, practices, research techniques, terminology and communication principles.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  Working conditions Work is performed in an office setting and requires the ability to sit for an extend amount of time. Requires periodic travel.   Physical/Visual requirements Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to read electronic documents of all types
