We are committed to finding and placing the best hospitality talent in the industry!      HSS is currently recruiting for a Executive Chef for a direct position in the San Mateo area.   PAY DOE | Competitive   JOB Description: Job Purpose The Head Chef will be responsible for the quality of all fresh prepared foods at our clients restaurant that including sit-down, take out, deli and grab & go. This position will work closely with the Director of Culinary and Facilities in order to achieve our vision. The Head Chef will be responsible for executing a menu highlighting meats, and will work with the Head Butcher in order to fully utilize our whole animals. This is a key management position and essential in fostering a great working environment in the kitchen and the shop at large.   Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. 15% Manage all kitchen purchasing and inventory - Evaluate revenue and costs, adjusting ordering and scheduling as necessary to achieve goals set by Company Directors 2. 15% Leading by Example:  Leads service with a hand-on approach to service and hospitality.  Hold team accountable to service standards and maintain accurate documentation of training / coaching conversations. Hire, train & manage kitchen and dish-room staff.   3. 15% Oversee production within the kitchen. Maintain and assure highest level of quality for all fresh prepared food products. Train and coach employees on preparations standards. 4. 10% Manage kitchen & dish-room scheduling, in conjunction with General Manager. 5. 10% Coordinate with Head Butcher to ensure maximum product usage and profitability.
