Summary of Job:
The Hotel Maintenance Worker must oversee the property grounds, public areas and the hotel guest rooms. Preventative maintenance must be performed to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
The hotel maintenance worker may be on call 24 hours each day if second or third shift maintenance workers are unavailable. The Hotel Maintenance Worker may be responsible for training junior maintenance workers in more complicated tasks.
Essential Job Functions:
Successful candidates must smile and be friendly when interacting with co-workers, guests and property employees.
Must follow all required safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
Must report any wrong doing to Hotel Supervisors.
Common tasks include painting, electrical accessory replacements and repair and some wiring. Responsible for maintaining, cleaning and replacing air conditioning units as required.
The Hotel Maintenance Worker must respond to guest complaints or issues in a timely manner and must also fulfill work orders when issues cannot be resolved.
Maintenance Workers are required to complete daily rounds checking on basic hotel accommodations and identifying and reporting any problems.
The Hotel maintenance worker must have extensive knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems as well as carpentry experience.
Knowledge of safety requirements is mandatory. Maintenance workers must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
Applicants for hotel maintenance worker job positions should have at least a high school diploma and experience working in a hotel or similar accommodations.
Applicants must be physically fit enough to lift and carry at least 40 lbs. and be able to stand and walk over extensive time periods.
Schedules must be flexible and hotel maintenance workers should have reliable transportation
Must have schedule flexibility for both AM/PM shifts.
Available to work weekends and holidays is a MUST!
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must meet company and hotel grooming standards.
Ability to perform all duties as instructed on training.
Extensive knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, as well as carpentry experience.
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Must lift, bend, twist, stoop and climb.
